Heads up:

These terms are written for a small EU indie hosting service. Not a Microsoft-style novel.

1. TL;DR

You rent a Minecraft server from me, pay monthly (or per-day for events), and you can cancel anytime. I'll keep your data backed up and try really hard to keep things running. This is a small indie service on a budget setup, so things won't always be perfect — by signing up, you're agreeing that hiccups, brief outages, and occasional lag are part of the deal, and there's no guaranteed uptime. Friendly handshake terms with the legalese version below.

The short list:
  • Be 16 or older (or have a parent's OK).
  • Don't host malware, illegal content, or DDoS launch pads.
  • Pay your invoice. Cancel anytime.
  • Your world files are yours — you can download them whenever.
  • Expect occasional bumps. No guaranteed uptime.

2. Your account

When you sign up, you give us a name, email, and password. You're responsible for keeping that password safe — if someone gets in because you reused "minecraft123", that's on you. One person per account; you can invite collaborators inside the dashboard.

You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account on your own. If you're younger than that, a parent or guardian has to sign up for you. We won't knowingly host accounts for users under 13.

3. Payment & billing

Plans are billed monthly in advance. Event servers are billed per day, charged when the event finishes. We accept cards via Stripe and PayPal. Prices are listed in EUR — currency conversions are your bank's problem.

If a payment fails, we'll email you and give you 7 days to fix it. After that, your server is paused (not deleted) for another 14 days so your worlds aren't lost. Past that, we may delete the data — we'll send one more warning first.

VAT applies for EU customers where required.

4. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel anytime from the billing page. No phone calls, no retention scripts. Your server keeps running until the end of the billing period you already paid for.

Refunds: if you cancel within 7 days of your first invoice on a plan and barely used the service, ask for a refund and we'll usually do it. After that, we generally don't refund partial months — but if something weird happened (a major outage, a mistaken charge), email us and we'll work it out.

Event servers are non-refundable once the server boots, but we can reschedule if you let us know at least 24 hours before.

5. Acceptable use

You can use your server to play Minecraft. That's the easy part. You can't use it to:

  • Host or distribute malware, pirated content, or anything illegal in the Netherlands or your country
  • Run DDoS tools, crypto miners, botnets, or anything that isn't actually Minecraft
  • Harass other players, communities, or KuroHosting staff
  • Host CSAM, NSFW content visible to minors, or hate-targeted servers
  • Try to break into other customers' servers or the KuroHosting infrastructure

If you do any of that, we'll shut your server down and (depending on what it is) report it to the relevant authorities. For borderline stuff, we'll usually email you first and ask you to fix it.

6. Your content & worlds

Your worlds, plugins, configs, and uploads belong to you. We host them; we don't own them. You can download a full backup from the panel whenever you want, no questions asked.

You grant us the minimum permission needed to actually run your server: storing files, loading them into the Minecraft process, transferring them between our backup storage and your server. That's it.

Mojang's EULA still applies to anything you do with Minecraft. You can't sell in-game items or run pay-to-win shops that break their rules.

7. Uptime & support — please read this one

KuroHosting is an indie operation on a budget setup. We do our absolute best to keep servers online and snappy, but we are not a big enterprise host like Shockbyte, Apex, or Nodecraft. By signing up, you're agreeing that things won't always be perfect:

  • We do not guarantee 99.9% uptime or any specific uptime percentage
  • Occasional hiccups, restarts, brief outages, or lag spikes can and will happen
  • Power flickers, ISP weirdness, or hardware acting up may take a server offline for minutes to hours
  • Scheduled maintenance happens, and we'll announce it in Discord when we can — but emergency fixes might not get advance notice

We aren't liable for downtime, lost streams, or interrupted events. We will, however, try to make things right when something goes wrong — usually that means a credit on your next invoice if there's a major prolonged outage, decided case-by-case at our discretion.

Support is handled via Discord and email by one human (me). Response times are usually fast during EU daytime hours, slower otherwise. Stronghold tier gets bumped to the front of the queue.

The honest version:
  • This is an indie service run by a streamer, not a 24/7 NOC
  • It works well most of the time, but expect occasional bumps
  • If you need bulletproof enterprise uptime, please use a bigger host
  • If you're cool with a friendly indie vibe and good prices, welcome 🌱

8. Liability

KuroHosting is a small indie service. Our total liability to you for anything that goes wrong is capped at what you paid us in the past 3 months — we can't be on the hook for lost stream revenue, sponsorship cancellations, or "I lost my speedrun world" damages.

That said, we keep daily backups so the chances of losing your world are very low. Download your own copy occasionally just to be safe — it's a 3-second click.

9. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a meaningful way (pricing rules, what counts as acceptable use, etc.), we'll email all active customers at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Small fixes (typos, clarifications) we'll just update with the "Last updated" date at the top.

10. Contact

Questions, complaints, weird edge cases — email info@kurohosting.com or message me in Discord. I read everything.

KuroHosting is operated as a sole-trader business registered in the Netherlands. Full company details available on request if you need them for invoicing.
